Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Dubai to apply their procurement knowledge and solve straightforward problems with guidance. You will analyze options, interface with project teams, and manage RFQ to PO cycles while maintaining vendor relationships.

The role requires an engineering degree with around 10 years of procurement experience, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with Smart Plant Materials and HR Systems. Knowledge of local logistics is a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with ~10 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of the procurement process.
• Able to communicate commercial solutions to procurement and non-procurement personnel.
• Support Integrated Procurement worldwide with suppliers.
• Understand local and regional logistics regulations and agreements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in Smart Plant Materials and HR Systems.
• Certificates in process improvement (Six Sigma) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement of materials in accordance with policies, procedures and ethical standards.
• Interface with PMT, Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, Accounting, and Warehouse.
• Procure materials with understanding of requisition requirements, standards and regulations.
• Establish procurement strategies for different materials.
• Visit vendors to assess capabilities and interface with management.
• Develop and maintain vendor base and monitor market trends.
• Evaluate vendor performance continually.
• Manage Supplier Registration and RFQ processes.
• Coordinate bid evaluations and commercial clarifications.
• Ensure compliance with MDR procurement procedures and budget.
• Place and administer purchase orders, handle discrepancies and revisions.
• Maintain audit trails and support expediting as needed.
• Monitor price trends, delivery lead times and capacity.
• Assist in resolving delivery nonconformances and OS&D issues.
• Support bid pricing with inputs to Bid & Proposal teams.
