Job summary

Mark Williams Recruitment in Dubai is seeking a VP Payments to lead a centralised payments function across multiple entities and locations, reporting to the CFO. This newly created role will drive governance, automation and process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee high-volume payment activities, VAT, reconciliations and financial controls, collaborating with Finance, Operations, HR and IT to resolve issues and optimise systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Strong experience across AP, payments, GL, fixed assets and financial controls.
• Experience managing a high-volume, multi-entity finance environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting policies, procedures and governance.
• Experience with ERP systems and implementing or improving financial processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee centralized payments to suppliers and employees.
• Ensure payments are processed accurately and within timelines.
• Review payment requests and ensure proper approvals and controls.
• Identify duplicate or unauthorised payments and reduce risk.
• Oversee month-end activities, accruals, provisions and cost allocations.
• Manage reconciliations across multiple accounts, entities and locations.
• Oversee suspense accounts, prepayments and balance sheet items.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting and audits.
• Manage VAT-related transactions and compliance.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, HR and IT to resolve issues.
• Lead system enhancements and implementations; gather requirements, test, implement.
• Support implementation of accounts payable and finance systems for new entities.
• Develop and maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Manage outsourced finance activities and service levels.
