Job summary

Petrofac in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer – Mechanical to lead mechanical/HVAC, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fireproofing activities. You will manage subcontractors, align with schedules, and ensure compliance with contract requirements and international standards.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in direct-hire construction within multinational EPCs, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and experience with CIS/MENA regions.

Qualifications

• 8+ Mechanical and Piping Engineering experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
• 8+ HVAC Engineering experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• Preference will be given to candidates who meet CIS/FSU, Middle East, and/or North Africa criteria.
• Experience working with a diverse international workforce.
• Good communications skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards (ASME/API) and piping specifications.
• Knowledge to solve Mechanical / HVAC, Piping, Painting, Insulation, Refractory and Fireproofing issues onsite and guide subcontractors.
• Trained in lifting and scaffolding supervision (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor and supervise construction activities related to Mechanical / HVAC, Piping, Painting, Insulation, Refractory and Fireproofing.
• Work to a 90 day look ahead schedule and direct field personnel and subcontractors to achieve on-schedule completion with quality workmanship.
• Ensure all work complies with contract requirements, Petrofac Management System requirements and relevant standards.
• Contribute to plans, schedules and estimates for individual work scope.
• Review IFC documents and resolve discrepancies; raise technical queries with field engineering.
• Ensure Build Right First Time (QinC) and participate in quality control inspections for all listed disciplines.
