Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking a senior Data Protection Officer to oversee the group’s global privacy programme. The role will serve as UAE DPO and counsel leadership on privacy risks, regulatory changes, and data protection matters across the organisation and its subsidiaries.

The DPO will build scalable privacy controls, manage privacy incidents, and coordinate with regulators, business units, and external advisers to ensure compliant and responsible handling of personal data

Qualifications

• Degree in law, information technology, business or a related discipline.
• Professional certification in data protection (e.g., IAPP CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT) strongly preferred.
• 7-10 years’ experience in data protection or privacy roles, including senior-level leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develops and drives global data protection strategy across the EGA Group.
• Leads privacy governance framework, data mapping, records of processing activities, and vendor assessments.
• Leads data breach response and regulatory engagement; acts as primary contact for data protection authorities.
• Leads privacy due diligence for new ventures and integration planning in M&A.
• Advises on responsible AI governance, regulatory developments and organisational readiness.
