Job summary

IFZA Dubai is seeking a Data Protection Officer to lead privacy and data protection initiatives, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. You will advise on governance, risk management, and controls while collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategic privacy projects.

Requirements include a law/compliance or related degree, 4–5 years in data protection, and professional privacy certification. You will support audits, train staff, and oversee regulatory reporting and incident responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Business, Information Security, or related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in data protection, privacy, governance, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of UAE PDPL and international privacy principles.
• Experience drafting policies, procedures, and governance documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple business functions.
• High discretion in handling confidential information.
• Professional certification in privacy or data protection.
• Experience in financial services, regulated entities, or corporate service providers.
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections or internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead privacy governance framework improvements aligned with legislation and business goals.
• Review and update policies and procedures to meet legal requirements.
• Advise on privacy risks and implement controls for new processes.
• Manage Data Subject Rights requests and maintain associated records.
• Coordinate Privacy Impact Assessments as needed and track mitigations.
• Support contract reviews involving third-party data processing.
• Prepare management reports on privacy compliance status.
• Provide privacy training and awareness across the organization.
