Job summary

Anantara Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled General Technician to join our team at the Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara staff accommodations in Abu Dhabi. You will perform daily maintenance across electrical, plumbing, AC, carpentry, and painting tasks, ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment for Team Members.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience in hotels or residential properties, strong troubleshooting skills, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• Experience as General Technician or similar role in hotel/resort maintenance.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing, AC, painting, and general maintenance.
• Experience in staff accommodation, hotel, resort, or residential property maintenance preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to live and work in a remote resort location.
• Flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance across staff accommodation buildings.
• Attend maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, AC, and general maintenance.
• Inspect rooms, common areas, facilities, and equipment for maintenance needs.
• Perform AC cleaning, basic servicing, and preventive maintenance.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs, plumbing, painting, and other tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance complaints and emergencies.
• Ensure work is safe and up to standard.
• Maintain tools and materials; report major defects to supervisor.
• Support contractors and specialized technicians when required.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas after tasks.
• Follow health, safety, hygiene, and accommodation policies.
• Be flexible to work in a remote location to support the accommodation team.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable General Technician to join our team and support the maintenance operations at our Staff Accommodation. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in general maintenance and be able to respond quickly to repair and maintenance requirements while ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our Team Members.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance works across the staff accommodation buildings.
• Attend to maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, AC, and general building maintenance.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance requirements.
• Perform AC cleaning, basic servicing, and preventive maintenance as required.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs, plumbing works, painting, and other general maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance complaints and emergencies raised by Team Members.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to an acceptable standard.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance materials properly.
• Report major defects, equipment failures, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Support contractors and specialized technicians when required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas after completing maintenance tasks.
• Follow all company health, safety, hygiene, and accommodation policies and procedures.
• Be flexible to work in a remote location and support the accommodation team based on operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Hands‑on knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, AC, painting, and general maintenance.
• Experience in staff accommodation, hotel, resort, or residential property maintenance is preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Safety‑conscious and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to live and work in a remote resort location.
