Job Overview:

The General Superintendent role requires a mastery of project execution strategies, a deep understanding of workforce management, and a comprehensive knowledge of industry-wide disciplines, including regulatory compliance, advanced risk management, supply chain logistics, and workforce development. The decisions made by the General Superintendent are critical in ensuring that all projects under their purview are delivered to the highest standards of quality, within budget, and on schedule. They have a substantial impact on the service level, safety culture, and operational excellence at McDermott. Responsibilities

KeyTasks and Responsibilities:

• Oversee offshore construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules
• Enforce quality standards and ensure work meets company and industry standards
• Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
• Lead and manage the offshore construction team, including subcontractors and direct labor force
• Coordinate the allocation of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing offshore‑related concerns and ensuring satisfaction
• Provide regular updates to project managers and senior management on offshore project progress, challenges, and solutions
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with offshore safety and quality standards
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction execution
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure budget adherence
• Train and mentor junior staff and new hires to ensure high performance
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure seamless offshore project execution
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all offshore construction activities
• Facilitate effective communication
• Implement the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) program
• Direct and control all phases of offshore construction using the construction schedules and estimates for guidance
• Review the status of the project with the Construction Manager periodically, and initiate remedial action as required
• Maintain close contact with other functional departments to ensure adequate flow of information and materials
• Manage subcontractors’ performance and execution
• Hold responsibility for the safety, cost, timing, and quality of work performed

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EPCI processes
• Relevant certifications in offshore construction and safety management
• Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies

• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments
