Job summary

NSR Associates in Abu Dhabi seeks a General Manager to drive delivery of the business plan across Infrastructure, Energy and Major Developments. You will lead operations, commercial, and stakeholder management, supported by the Dubai head office, to secure profitable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a track record delivering civil engineering projects in Abu Dhabi, has held GM or Operations roles for reputable Tier 1 contractors, and is fluent in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and translate strategy into operational plans.

• Drive the Abu Dhabi business plan in coordination with Head Office in Dubai.
• Engage stakeholders and manage commercial, estimation, QHSE & HR.
• Direct line management to the Managing Director.

Due to exciting growth plans the Managing Director is seeking a General Manager to sit in Abu Dhabi and execute the business plan.Organization have been invited to tender more and more work to help support Abu Dhabi's strategic growth across Infrastructure, Energy and Major Developments. This is not a standing start as licenses, premises and prior projects have been delivered. Hence the interest from clients to appoint this organization as principal contractor on 150 Million to 1 Billion AED.This organization has 40 + Years success across the emirates delivering Highways, Ports, Bridges, Underpasses and Airports. With Emirati shareholders, strong connections and relationships this is an exciting time for this Main Contractor in Abu DhabiThis is the perfect opportunity for an Abu Dhabi based Operations Manager to take a step up into a General Manager post. Can you bring local knowledge, talent and expertise

• Reporting into the Managing Director you will be across everything pre & post contract.
• Providing strategic leadership handling quality, commercial, operations, business development, stakeholder management & much more.
• Supported by the Head office in Dubai you will drive the business plan in Abu Dhabi.

Examples of daily, weekly and monthly tasks to make a positive impact in the role.

• Lead the day-to-day operations
• Translate strategy into operational plans, priorities and business objectives
• Oversee project delivery, resource allocation and performance
• Smooth collaboration between project teams, commercial, estimation, QHSE & HR.
• Monitor budgets, costs, revenue, profitability and cash flow
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and business growth in Abu Dhabi
• Ensure you are engaging with the right characters to track and monitor major projects and invitations to tender
• Direct line management to the Managing Director

• You must be based in Abu Dhabi and able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi when challenged by NSR Associates and our client.
• The reality of this means that you have a track record of delivering Civil Engineering Projects across a range of sectors and clients
• Held General Management, Operations & Delivery posts for reputable Abu Dhabi Tier 1's
• You have the assurance, engineering expertise and knowledge to bid, delivery and make money on Bridges, Highways, Energy, Ports & Infrastructure Projects
• You have the confidence and presentation skills to present business cases internally and externally
• Fluent in Arabic (native)& English
• Degree Holder - Civil Engineering
• Commercially and contractually aware, you understand risk, FIDIC contracts and market conditions
• Handled Major Projects, Business Plans and a P&L
