Job summary

Accor, in Dubai, is seeking a General Accounting Supervisor to oversee month-end close, ledger entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role includes updating SOPs, processing payroll-related tasks, and ensuring UAE tax compliance. Visa support is provided for selected candidates.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor degree, experience in hospitality accounting, and familiarity with Opera/Sun systems. A recognised accounting body membership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree is required.
• Member of a recognised accounting body is recommended.
• Relevant accounting experience in hospitality.
• 2 years Financial Reporting/Management Accounting experience.
• Experience in payroll and HRMS.
• Knowledge of UAE Tax rules and regulations.
• Experience with Opera and Sun accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close activities.
• Update and complete SOPs process documents.
• Process all relevant transactions in the general ledger monthly, including overdue items and disclosures to General Accounting Supervisor.
• Process all journal entries into ledgers and submit for review in a timely manner.
• Prepare general ledger balance sheet reconciliations and report discrepancies and overdue items.

Job description

Under the leadership of the General Accounting Supervisor complete the following activities in accordance with agreed service levels:

• Responsibility for month-end close activities.
• Update and complete SOPs process documents
• On a monthly basis process all relevant transactions in the general ledger with special note on overdue items and making appropriate disclosures to the General Accounting Supervisor
• Responsible for processing all journal entries into relevant ledgers and submission to the General Accounting Supervisor for review in a timely manner
• Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet by preparing general ledger balance sheet reconciliations investigate and report on financial discrepancies and overdue items.
• Complete and submit all relevant statutory and regulatory returns performed by the accounting team.
• Execute escalation process to support effective service delivery
• Assist in the preparation of the KPI reports
• Support deadline management
• Follow up and ensure that audit requests are submitted
• Focus on recording completeness and measurement of all transactions
• Ensure controls are adhered to and executed
• Drive adherence to safety.
• Any other tasks as and when required
• Demonstrate behaviour in line with health safety and environmental standards and with the Groups values
• Participate in relevant safety audits inspections and observations and address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership
• Demonstrate behaviour in line with the Groups values standards and a professional workplace
• Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with your leader peers and relevant others (including from other teams) to achieve business goals
• Be an effective team member by demonstrating a commitment to safety and positive working behaviours
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and Accorgroup policies.

Qualifications :

• Bachelordegree.
• Member of a recognised accounting body (Recommended)
• Relevant accounting experience in the hospitality industry.
• 2 Years Financial Reporting/Management Accounting experience
• Experience in payroll and HRMS
• Knowledge of UAE Tax rules and regulations
• Experience of Accounting systems like Opera Sun etc.
