Job summary

The First Group is seeking a proactive General Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations for a premium hospitality and equestrian destination. You will manage AP, AR and GL, ensure accurate reporting, and work with the Chief Accountant to maintain strong controls.

45-60 day close cycles are common; you will prepare VAT schedules, reconcile revenue across business units, and support audits while driving process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in hospitality or multi-revenue operations.
• Proven ability to manage AP, AR and GL independently.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and accounting software.
• Strong Excel proficiency and analytical skills.

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented General Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a premium hospitality and equestrian destination. As the propertys sole on-site finance representative, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, includingAccounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL), while working closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete AP, AR, and GL functions for the property.


• Process supplier invoices, payments, customer invoicing, and collections.


• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.


• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.


• Prepare monthly financial reports and support month-end and year-end closing.


• Reconcile revenue across memberships, riding activities, events, F&B, retail, and other business units.


• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.


• Prepare VAT schedules and ensure compliance with UAE regulations.


• Verify invoices, expense claims, and payment documentation.


• Maintain fixed asset and inventory records.


• Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial documentation.


• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls.


• Liaise with banks, vendors, and internal departments on financial matters.


• Work closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure timely reporting and financial accuracy.


• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.


• Perform other accounting duties as required.

Desired Skill & Expertise

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, leisure, or multi-revenue operations.


• Proven experience managing AP, AR, and GL independently.


• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and accounting software.


• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
