Job summary

Applus+ Asia Middle East and Africa is seeking an experienced Gas Engineering reviewer to assess LPG, NG and SNG system designs and ensure compliance with UAE and international standards. You will conduct design reviews, site inspections, tests, and prepare reports and certificates.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/chemical/gas engineering with 10 years in gas systems, and familiarity with ADNOC/UAE regulations. On-site work in Abu Dhabi is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with specialization in gas systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in gas engineering, inspection or design review.
• Proven experience with LPG, NG and SNG systems in UAE projects.
• UAE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review LPG, NG and SNG system designs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Verify compliance with DoE Gas Regulations and Unified Gas Code.
• Review ADNOC engineering standards and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Inspect gas equipment and systems such as PRS, meters, regulators, detectors, and ESD systems.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities.
• Prepare design compliance reports and recommendations.
• Issue inspection and commissioning reports and certificates.
• Support authority approvals and audits.
• Ensure HSE compliance and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders.

Job description

Review LPG, NG and SNG system designs submitted by consultants and contractors.

Verify compliance with:

• DoE Gas Regulations and Unified Gas Code.


• ADNOC engineering standards and specifications.


• UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.


• NFPA 54, NFPA 58, ASME, API, BS EN and other applicable standards.


• Review Gas pressure reducing stations, Metering and regulator systems, Gas detection systems and Emergency shutdown systems, etc.,


• Evaluate sizing calculations for Pipework, Gas demand, Regulators, Storage capacity and Relief valve capacity, etc.,.


• Provide technical comments and close-out of design review observations.


• Prepare design compliance reports and recommendations.


• Conduct site inspections during Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Handover stages.


• Verify installation compliance with approved drawings.


• Inspect LPG tanks and manifolds, NG, LPG and SNG pipeline networks, PRS/PRS stations, Gas meters, Valves and regulators, Gas detection systems, Emergency isolation systems and Ventilation requirements etc.,


• Verify materials and equipment approvals.


• Witness and verify Pneumatic testing, Hydrostatic testing, Tightness testing, Functional testing, Gas detector calibration and ESD system testing etc.,


• Witness purging and commissioning activities.


• Check contractor compliance with approved work procedures and method statements.


• Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.


• Review commissioning records and test certificates.


• Issue inspection reports and commissioning recommendations.


• Verify completion documentation before certification.


• Prepare Site inspection reports, Non-conformance reports (NCR), Observation reports and Final compliance certificates.


• Support authority approvals and audits.


• Ensure adherence to HSE requirements and gas safety regulations..


• Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification studies.


• Review safety studies like HAZID, HAZOP, JSA & Method statements.


• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, authorities, and project stakeholders.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering ,Chemical Engineering, Gas Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent.


• UAE degree equivalency certificate is required (it can be applied if not available currently)

Experience

• 10 years of experience in gas engineering, inspection, or design review.


• Proven experience with LPG, NG, and SNG systems in UAE projects.


• UAE experience in similar field preferred.
