Job summary

CAE is seeking a disciplined technician to support preventive maintenance and daily readiness on training devices at our Abu Dhabi facility.

You will perform PMTs and daily readiness tasks, maintain records, and use the maintenance system while adhering to safety guidelines. Strong basics in electronics and computer literacy are required; English proficiency is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Aviation.
• English language proficiency (spoken and written).
• Basic understanding of electro‑mechanical terminology.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documents related to electro‑mechanical systems.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Basic knowledge of computer networking.

Responsibilities

• Learn preventive maintenance activities and daily readiness on training devices during on‑the‑job training.
• Perform PMTs and DR on training devices and systems, under supervision as needed.
• Maintain PMT/DR records and keep them up to date and accessible.
• Use the Maintenance Management System to record and review maintenance activities.
• Support logistics tasks including inventories, packing, and preparation for shipping; perform housekeeping and admin duties as required.
• Comply with CAE EH&S standards and safe working procedures; protect own safety and that of others.

About This Role

Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn from a signed Engineer or Technician about the Preventive Maintenance Activities and Daily Readiness Activities on the Training Devices during OJT.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on the training devices and associated systems. The more complex PMTs are performed under the supervision of a Simulator Support Engineer or Technician. Keep the associated PMT and DR records up to date and available at all times.
• Accountable to maintain keep track and request consumable items and tools required to perform the Preventive Maintenance Tasks and Daily Readiness.
• Make use of the Maintenance Management System to record track and review all maintenance activities.
• Support logistics duties including yearly inventories re-arrangement of stores packing and preparation for shipping etc Perform housekeeping functions administrative functions and other tasks to support the technical services group as reasonably required.
• Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards instructions and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.

Skills / Background

• 2-Year Technical Diploma in Electronics Electrical or Aviation Field.
• Knowledge of the English Language both spoken and written.

• Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to Electro-Mechanical systems.
