Job summary

CAE is seeking an experienced Simulator Technician to maintain and support state-of-the-art simulators across naval and air domains in the UAE. The role requires traveling between sites, providing flexible technical coverage, and surge support to ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct Simulator experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot to system level on multiple simulator types.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic and test equipment.
• Ability to use and interpret all diagnostics available on simulators.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance pre- and post-training checks on any simulator in the fleet.
• Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustments and setups on at least one visual system.
• Ability to assist with refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and simulator configurations with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluency in English.
• Valid UAE Driving License.

This position operates as a floating resource across multiple company sites within the UAE. The role is designed to provide flexible technical coverage operational continuity and surge support in response to business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Diagnose and correct routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
• Train technicians in basic skills.
• Complete all designated training activities.
• Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
• Perform pre and post training session checks on all simulators.
• Perform visual alignments.
• Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results if required.
• Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
• Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
• Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
• Perform logistics duties including parts received repair and testing/validation.
• Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.
• Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.
• Adapt quickly to site-specific procedures customer requirements and simulator configurations while maintaining compliance with CAE quality and safety standards.
• Ensure consistent technical standards documentation and maintenance practices across supported sites.

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustment and set-ups on at least 1 type of visual system.
• Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple sites teams and simulator configurations with minimal supervision.
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
• Fluency in English.
• Valid UAE Driving License.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

• Includes frequent travelling within the UAE to different locations and abroad short notice deployment as well as shift and overtime working plus some of the work involves the maintenance and/or replacement of awkwardly positioned equipment. Site allocations may vary in duration and frequency based on operational requirements.
