Job summary

CAE Defence & Security – Indo-Pacific is seeking an experienced Simulator Technician to maintain and support state-of-the-art simulators in naval and air domains. The role is a floating resource across UAE sites, providing flexible technical coverage, operational continuity, and surge support.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex problems, and contribute to continuous professional development while delivering excellent customer service and timely support.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct Simulator experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to system level on multiple simulator types.
  • Proficiency with test equipment and interpreting available diagnostics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and pre/post training checks on simulators.
  • Assist with refurbishments and hardware modifications.

Job Description:

Are you an experienced Simulator Technician looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our dynamic team where you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting our state-of-the-art Simulators in naval and air domain. This position operates as a floating resource across multiple company sites within the UAE. The role is designed to provide flexible technical coverage, operational continuity, and surge support in response to business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Diagnose and correct routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Train technicians in basic skills.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
  • Perform pre and post training session checks on all simulators.
  • Perform visual alignments.
  • Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results if required.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.
  • Adapt quickly to site-specific procedures, customer requirements, and simulator configurations while maintaining compliance with CAE quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure consistent technical standards, documentation, and maintenance practices across supported sites.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • Minimum of 3 yearsof direct Simulator experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to system level on at least multiple types of simulators.
  • Proficiency in using all types of test equipment’s.
  • Ability to use and interpret all diagnostic available on multiple types of simulators.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, pre and post training checks on any simulator in the fleet.
  • Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustment and set-ups on at least 1 type of visual system.
  • Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple sites, teams, and simulator configurations with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid UAE Driving License.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

  • Includes frequent travelling within the UAE to different locations and abroad, short notice deployment, as well as shift and overtime working, plus some of the work involves the maintenance and/or replacement of awkwardly positioned equipment. Site allocations may vary in duration and frequency based on operational requirements.
