Job summary

GMG Gulf in Dubai is seeking a Category Monitor for Fresh Produce to oversee the quality and presentation of fruits and vegetables across retail stores. The role involves optimizing assortment, reducing wastage, improving merchandising standards, and supporting store teams through regular field visits and performance analysis.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fresh produce handling and quality standards, excellent analytical skills, and be able to work independently across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, quality standards, and merchandising.
• Proven analytical ability in sales monitoring, wastage control, and assortment planning.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple store visits daily.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• Experience in retail or FMCG environments, especially fresh food, is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support best practices in handling, display, and rotation of fruits and vegetables.
• Conduct regular store visits to evaluate category performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze sales performance, wastage data, and assortment availability.
• Ensure planogram compliance and proper stock rotation.
• Provide coaching to store teams on freshness, hygiene, and merchandising standards.
• Ensure product assortment meets customer preferences.
• Coordinate with central planning regarding availability and quality matters.
• Prepare category performance reports with insights and action recommendations.
• Travel frequently between stores; maintain a valid driving license.
