ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Surface Preparation:

  • Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and fixing cracks.
  • Apply primers and sealers to prepare surfaces for the finishing coat.

Painting:

  • Select appropriate paint, stain, or other finishes according to hotel standards and specific job requirements.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Mix and match paints and finishes to achieve the desired color and texture.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform touch‑up painting and repair work as needed.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for flaws and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with local regulations and hotel policies regarding the use and disposal of paints and chemicals.
  • Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other members of the engineering team and other departments to coordinate work and minimize disruption to hotel operations.
  • Assist with other maintenance and repair tasks as needed.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor promptly.

Customer Service:

  • Interact professionally and courteously with hotel guests and staff.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to painting work.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoors and at heights.
  • Must have the physical stamina and dexterity required for lifting, bending, and working in various conditions.
  • Proficient in painting techniques, including brushing, rolling, and spraying.
  • Ability to mix and match paints and finishes accurately.
FUNCTIONAL PRE-REQUISITES
  • Educational Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Years of Experience: Max – 5 / Min – 2.
  • Industries Acceptable From: Hospitality industry.
  • Role Specific Qualifications & Training: Relevant vocational training or certification in painting or a related field is preferred.
  • Languages Required: English.
  • Computer and Software Proficiency: NA.
  • Driving License: NA.
  • Travel Availability / Time Flexibility: World Islands – Dubai / Very Essential.
  • Work Relationships: Internal: Subordinates & Managers; External: Guests.
