Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai seeks an Assistant Design Engineer – Formwork to support the design team with formwork, shoring and scaffolding drawings and documentation.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of relevant drafting/design experience, strong AutoCAD 2D skills, and a good grasp of construction drawings and temporary works.

The role offers exposure to formwork systems (PERI, Doka or equivalents) and a path to specialised temporary works design within a growing UAE developer.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction/civil engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of formwork-related drafting/design experience.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Basic understanding of construction and structural drawings.
• Exposure to formwork, shoring or scaffolding systems preferred.
• Exposure to PERI, Doka or similar systems is an advantage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; team-oriented.
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred/required; travel to sites.
• Candidates in UAE/GCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing formwork, shoring and scaffolding drawings under guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare basic GA drawings, assembly drawings and 2D CAD drawings.
• Modify existing drawings based on engineering instructions and project requirements.
• Assist in preparing material take-offs and material lists.
• Use AutoCAD and company templates to create clear, accurate drawings.
• Ensure drawings are updated based on design changes and feedback.
• Support design engineers with basic design activities and technical documentation.
• Assist with simple engineering calculations under supervision.
• Gather technical information from suppliers and formwork manuals.
• Participate in technical/project coordination meetings as required.
