The position requires a Technical Diploma in a relevant discipline or a Secondary School Certificate supported by an appropriate vocational trade qualification. Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience involving fire operations, technical emergency response, firefighting equipment, and heavy vehicle driving. Strong knowledge of facility layouts and emergency access routes is required, including awareness of hydrant locations and firefighting water systems. Applicants should understand the operation of fire pumps, ladders, rescue vehicles, tankers, suppression systems, and associated firefighting apparatus. Practical first-aid knowledge is expected, including CPR, basic casualty assessment, and initial casualty handling. Candidates must hold the required heavy vehicle driving qualification and be capable of operating emergency vehicles safely under demanding conditions. NFPA 1001 and NFPA 472 certifications are required, together with Heavy Vehicle and Defensive Driving licenses.
