Role Context

The Fire Truck Operator will form part of the emergency response and crisis management capability supporting industrial and operational facilities. The position requires immediate readiness to mobilize during fires, rescues, oil spills, equipment failures, medical emergencies, and other critical incidents. The role combines emergency vehicle driving, firefighting equipment operation, rescue support, first-aid assistance, routine testing, equipment maintenance, documentation, and physical readiness. Reliable performance is essential because the availability and safe operation of firefighting vehicles and suppression systems directly affect emergency response effectiveness and personnel safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remain alert and ready to respond immediately to emergency situations according to instructions from the responsible incident leader.
  • Prepare appropriate emergency recovery equipment for fire, oil spill, rescue, plant failure, and other incident scenarios.
  • Drive fire trucks and other emergency response vehicles safely to fire, rescue, medical, and operational emergency locations.
  • Position emergency vehicles appropriately to support firefighting and rescue operations.
  • Operate fire truck pumps, monitors, suppression systems, and mechanical rescue equipment during incidents.
  • Support fire and rescue personnel by ensuring reliable water, foam, dry chemical powder, and related firefighting capability.
  • Assist firefighting teams during rescue operations involving vessels, pits, confined spaces, elevated locations, and drowning incidents.
  • Support first-aid activities for injured personnel when required.
  • Assist with safe transportation of casualties to medical facilities where directed.
  • Carry out daily inspections of fire trucks and emergency response equipment.
  • Inspect firefighting and suppression equipment installed on emergency vehicles to ensure readiness.
  • Perform scheduled operational tests on fire pumps, monitors, foam systems, water systems, and dry chemical powder equipment.
  • Record performance results and report faults, abnormalities, or reduced equipment capability.
  • Conduct demonstration exercises and functional checks to confirm reliability of fire truck systems.
  • Maintain emergency vehicles and equipment through basic servicing activities such as cleaning, hose handling, tank refilling, and operational checks.
  • Maintain fire hoses, extinguishers, foam systems, breathing apparatus, resuscitation equipment, hydrants, reticulation systems, and isolation valves.
  • Operate and refill firefighting equipment including powder, CO2, and Nitrogen systems according to approved safe operating procedures.
  • Monitor vehicle registration, licensing, certification, and other administrative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate fire truck and equipment records in accordance with HSE, Quality, and company management systems.
  • Participate in emergency drills, training exercises, road closure activities, fire events, and HSE programs.
  • Support training of new operators in the safe operation of firefighting vehicles and associated apparatus.
  • Undergo regular physical fitness training to maintain readiness for emergency duties.
  • Participate as an emergency response team member during crisis situations.
  • Maintain fire station, vehicle, and equipment areas in clean and orderly condition.
  • Provide operational inputs for section progress reports and management reporting.
  • Prepare or contribute to KPI checklists and emergency equipment performance records.
  • Comply with approved HSE policies, procedures, ADNOC Code of Practices, legislation, and sustainability requirements.
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, operating procedures, standards, and management systems.
  • Contribute suggestions for improving emergency response procedures and firefighting operations.
  • Provide on-the-job training where required to support Competency Based Training and UAE Nationalization programs.
Ideal Profile

The position requires a Technical Diploma in a relevant discipline or a Secondary School Certificate supported by an appropriate vocational trade qualification. Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience involving fire operations, technical emergency response, firefighting equipment, and heavy vehicle driving. Strong knowledge of facility layouts and emergency access routes is required, including awareness of hydrant locations and firefighting water systems. Applicants should understand the operation of fire pumps, ladders, rescue vehicles, tankers, suppression systems, and associated firefighting apparatus. Practical first-aid knowledge is expected, including CPR, basic casualty assessment, and initial casualty handling. Candidates must hold the required heavy vehicle driving qualification and be capable of operating emergency vehicles safely under demanding conditions. NFPA 1001 and NFPA 472 certifications are required, together with Heavy Vehicle and Defensive Driving licenses. The role requires discipline, calm decision‑making, equipment awareness, and the ability to follow incident command instructions accurately during high‑pressure emergency situations.
