Job summary

A AND K FIRE AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician with proven experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent, knowledge of NFPA and local fire codes, and the ability to read diagrams. Salary is negotiable with immediate to 30 days notice; work is in-person and on-site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent; additional education in fire alarm systems preferred.
• Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, and local fire codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot addressable and conventional panels and devices; rectify wiring issues.
• Test detectors (smoke, heat, flame) and annunciation devices; service control relays.
• Read and interpret single line diagrams and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Setup and use testing equipment; interpret results; calibrate tools.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES strong

• 1 Full awareness and ability to implement the Planned preventative maintenance PPM Corrective Maintenance CM Breakdown Maintenance BD of Fire Alarm system
• 2 Handle Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels troubleshooting and rectification of wiring and other issues
• 3 Handle and service test addressable and Conventional automatic and manual initiating devices like Smoke Detectors Heat Detectors Flame Detectors Air Aspiration systems Linear Heat Detection System Beam Detectors Manual Call Points water flow switches etc
• 4 Handle and service test addressable and Conventional input output control relay modules
• 5 Handle and service test addressable and Conventional notification appliances like sounders flashers horn strobe Public Announcement speakers riser circuits amplifiers etc
• 6 Any other work as assigned by the supervisor Engineer to achieve the purpose
• 7 Can read interpret and describe Single Line Diagrams and Cause and Effect matrix
• 8 Can correctly setup and use test equipment and interpret the test results
• 09 Handle smoke detector testing tools calibration tools
• 10 Handle heat Detectors testing tool Flame Detector Testing tool Beam detectors Testing tool
• 11 Proper usage of Digital Multi meter Current Volts Amps
• 12 Knowledge in the use interpretation of NFPA UAEFC ADCD codes Standards and Regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in fire alarm systems preferred.
• Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NFPA, NEC, and local fire codes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
