Job summary

SUNDUS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY & STUDIES BUREAUL.L.C in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the finishing section of a steel plant. You will perform scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs to optimize production and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting during shutdowns, assisting the Sr. Technician, ensuring tool availability, and upholding health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of Mechanical problem.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and Hydraulic circuits.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs to optimize production and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot during shutdowns and assist in root-cause analysis for maintenance actions.
• Attend mechanical maintenance problems during shutdowns and communicate abnormalities to plan rectification.
• Check and confirm availability of tools and tackles.
• Ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards in finishing section.
• Assist Sr. Technician Workshop – Finishing during shutdowns.
• Follow mechanical maintenance standards for finishing workshop.
• Observe health, safety and environmental practices as per policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement Production Optimization: To execute all scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipments in order to optimize production & minimize plant down time for maintenance related works.


• Facilitate Corrective Action: Responsible for trouble shooting during shutdowns of mechanical equipments and provide the assistance to find out the root cause for corrective action in maintenance related works.


• Prevent System Abnormalities: Responsible for attending mechanical maintenance problems during shutdowns in the Plant and communicate to superiors of any abnormalities found in the equipment in order to plan & rectify the same.


• Check & confirm availability of tools & tackles.


• Meet Engineering/ Safety Principles: Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related works in Finishing Section.


• Assistance & Support: To assist and help the Sr. Technician Workshop – Finishing in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance of equipments during shutdowns.


• To act as Sr. Technician in absence of Sr. Technician or as & when required by Section.


• Following Standards: Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in Workshop – Finishing.


• Observe Health, Safety and Environmental practices: To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures applicable to maintenance.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree) Technical School Any preferred professional training

• Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance.


• Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of Mechanical problem.


• Understanding of engineering drawings and Hydraulic circuits.

Professional Experience (Must haves)

• 3-5 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant as a Technician / Fitter

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

• Knowledge of rigging and slinging
