Job summary

NMDC Energy in Abu Dhabi seeks a senior finance leader to oversee project accounting, payroll, fixed assets and cross‑functional financial controls. You will partner with the Project Manager, Commercial and Project Controls to ensure data integrity, timely reporting and IFRS compliance across all project finance activities.

You will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, asset capitalization, depreciation, and cost control while supporting audits and stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accountancy, Accounting or equivalent CPA / CMA / CA accreditation is an advantage.
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in Accounting & Finance in related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Act as financial focal point for assigned projects, forging close working relationship with Project Manager, Commercial and Project Controls team
  • Compile monthly and quarterly management reports of project specific financials in the specified format
  • Ensure timely revenue recognition and adherence to IFRS standards
  • Manage cost control process including closely monitoring all costs incurred against work budget and ensuring data integrity between Oracle ERP and project reporting
  • Provide Project Manager with ad-hoc project-related financial and risk analysis to assist in decision‑making
  • Maintain database of project related costs and provide estimating data for pricing of tenders and assist contracts team in claims or variations build up
  • Participate in cash management initiatives with follow up on billing, collection of outstanding invoices as well as identifying and prioritising critical vendor payments in order to effectively manage cash outflows and minimising use of petty cash
  • Supervise assigned project accountants, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Promote and engage effective working relationship with auditors
  • Establish & maintain contact with banks, clients, partners & suppliers
  • Attend meetings to provide fiscal advise and sound interpretation of policies & procedures
  • Perform other tasks as may be instructed from time to time
  • Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard
  • Oversee monthly payroll processing in coordination with HR and IT
  • Ensure payroll entries are accurate and aligned with contracts, benefits, and approved timesheets
  • Validate salary changes, incentives, overtime, and deductions
  • Manage end-of-service benefit calculations and compliance with UAE Labor Law
  • Liaise with banks and payment platforms for timely salary disbursement
  • Monitor capital expenditures and ensure proper capitalization in line with policy
  • Ensure timely monthly depreciation and reconciliations
  • Manage asset transfers, disposals, impairments, and physical verification
  • Review and improve integration between payroll costing and asset/project systems
  • Generate payroll and fixed asset reports for internal stakeholders and audits
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for system automation and report adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations
