Job summary

PlaceUp is seeking a Finance Manager/Senior Accountant in the UAE, Dubai. The role leads a small Finance team, ensures accurate monthly and annual closes, and manages receivables/payables with timely reporting to management.

The candidate should have 2+ years UAE experience, a recognized accounting qualification, VAT and corporate tax knowledge, and proficiency with MS Excel and accounting software. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Must be currently in the UAE with at least 2 years UAE-related accounting experience.
• Ideal 5 years of relevant accounting experience up to finalization and closing of accounts.
• Accounting qualification (ACCA/CA/CPA/CMA or equivalent) from a recognized body.
• Experience cooperating with auditors for annual financials.
• Knowledge of VAT and corporate tax regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Finance/Accounting team of 2+ members.
• Prepare monthly and annual close of P&L and balance sheet.
• Monitor receivables and payables for timely collections and payments.
• Produce regular MIS reports for management.
• Oversee posting of GL entries and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers for reconciliations.

Tasks and Responsibilities– Finance Manager / Senior Accountant:

• Managing and overseeing the Finance/Accounting team consisting of 2other resources
• Preparation of monthly and annual closing of profit and loss account & balance sheet
• Monitoring receivables and payables
• Preparing regular MIS analysis and reports for the management
• Overseeing the passing of various GL entries
• Liaison with customers & suppliers for the reconciliations of accounts
• Passing of monthly depreciation, amortization & deduction entries
• Running and checking of trial balance
• Vouching and proper allocation of receipts in order to generate debtors ageing
• Preparation of audit schedules
• Verification and vouching of payments to Suppliers
• Monthly Bank reconciliations & liaison with the bank when required
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT filings and corporate Tax
• Other ad-hoc reports

Desired Profile:

• Candidate must be already in the UAE with at least 2 years UAE related experience
• Ideally, 5 years of relevant accounting experience up to finalization and closing of the accounts
• Internationally recognized accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA or similar
• Have previous experience cooperating with auditors for submission of annual financials for audit
• Knowledgeable of VAT and corporate tax regulations and practices
• Self-starter and works with minimum supervision
• Fluent English
• Previous experience with accounting software (e.g. Peachtree, Tally, QuickBooks, Xero or similar)
• Proficient in MS-Excel
