Job summary

Barakat in Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented accountant to manage month-end close, accruals, prepayments, depreciation runs and GL schedules, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

You will perform reconciliations, including intercompany settlements, support fixed asset accounting, and provide documentation for statutory and internal audits while upholding SOPs and internal controls. The role is based in Dubai and offers opportunities to collaborate across finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly closing entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation runs and GL schedules, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Perform credit card, employee balance and other account reconciliations, including monthly/quarterly intercompany reconciliation and settlement entries.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation schedules and related reconciliations.
• Support statutory and internal audits by preparing required schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Ensure SOP and internal control compliance across the assigned area of responsibility.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns and related supporting documentation.
