Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in the UAE is seeking a Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor Specialist to install, commission and service centrifugal compressors as part of the CTS team. You will lead commissioning, optimize performance, and provide on-site and remote technical support for centrifugal systems.

Applicants should have a mechanical or electrical engineering background with 3–5 years of hands-on turbo compressor experience, plus willingness to travel across the UAE and GCC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience with Turbo Compressor.
• Knowledge of centrifugal compressor theory and operation.
• Experience with vibration analysis and troubleshooting of rotating equipment.

Your role

In order to facilitate continuously our increasing demand for service and contribute to the overall business growth and customers' satisfaction we are looking for a Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor Specialist within Compressor Technique Service (CTS) team.

The main responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Execute the installation, commissioning, and start-up of centrifugal compressors and associated systems.
• Configure anti-surge control and optimize compressor performance using control software.
• Lead commissioning, performance testing, and customer acceptance testing of centrifugal compressors.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and major overhauls (24K and 48K service intervals).
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to vibration, surge, and performance deviations.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for Centrifugal Compressor including emergency service calls.
• Support system upgrades, including central controller's integration and other enhancement projects.
• Prepare comprehensive service reports and maintain accurate records of all service interventions

To succeed, you will need

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering / electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Turbo Compressor, preferably the Atlas Copco product range or any other rotating equipment.

Strong knowledge of Centrifugal Compressor theory, performance curves, and operating principles.

Hands-on experience with gearbox inspections, bearing assessments, rotor measurements, and impeller inspections.

Experience in vibration analysis and troubleshooting of rotating equipment.

Good understanding of compressor control systems, anti-surge control logic, and capacity control methods.

Familiarity with Centrifugal compressors, central controller's & SMARTLINK is highly preferred.

Ability to perform root cause analysis and prepare technical investigation reports.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform flow and pressure calculations.

Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and diagnostic software.

Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.

Willingness to travel frequently within the UAE, GCC when required.

Knowledge of surge line setup, compressor performance optimization, and commissioning activities.

Ensure compliance with Atlas Copco and customer HSE requirements, including PTW, LMRA, and safe work practices during all service activities

Experience working on cross-border service projects and multi-site operations.

Atlas Copco Centrifugal Compressor experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong centrifugal compressor or rotating equipment experience from other OEMs will also be considered
