Job summary

Baker Hughes seeks a Mechanical Field Service Engineer for centrifugal compressors to coordinate and oversee field work at customer sites, including planning and crew instructions. The role involves unloading, inspection, alignment, and performing maintenance on Nuovo Pignone compressors, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with 5+ years (or a diploma with 8+ years) and hands-on field experience on centrifugal compressors, including

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years OR a full-time 3-year Technical Diploma with minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with rotating equipment (centrifugal compressor - vertical/horizontal) at customer sites.
• Strong functional/technical, customer focus, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Prior experience in installation and/or maintenance activities of centrifugal compressors in the field at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support to clients and craft labour in maintenance of Baker Hughes-supplied Centrifugal Compressors.
• Unloading and inspection of the Centrifugal Compressor & major auxiliaries at the installation site and their placement on the foundation.
• Improving geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliary skids positioning, levelling, and alignment.
• Performing maintenance activities of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors at customer sites.
• Performing minor & major inspections of Centrifugal Compressors including checking clearances, wear state, seals, and bearings.

As a Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressors, you will be coordinating and overseeing work at the field site, providing quality service to the customer. In addition, your Job role may include providing the planning necessary for the job including instructions to the crew and equipment.

• Providing technical advice and support to clients and craft labour in the maintenance of Baker Hughes-supplied Centrifugal Compressors.
• Unloading and Inspection of the Centrifugal Compressor & its major auxiliaries at the installation site and their placement on the foundation.
• Improving Geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliary skids positioning, levelling, and alignment
• Performing maintenance activities of various types of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors MCL, BCL, PCL, and SRL supplied by Baker Hughes at customer sites.
• Performing minor & major inspections of Centrifugal Compressors. Involving assembly, disassembly, checking and adjusting clearances evaluating wear and damage state of Couplings, lubricated-tooth, and dry-elastic types, thrust bearings and journal bearings of various kinds, gas seals, labyrinth and honeycomb types, Oil seals, gauged floating rings types, Dry gas seals or oil mechanical seals, Labyrinth or honeycomb inner seals, Diaphragms or diaphragms bundle and volutes.

Fuel your passion

• Have a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years OR a full-time 3-year Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Have working experience in Rotating equipment (Centrifugal Compressor - Vertical/Horizontal) in the Field at Customer Sites.
• Have excellent Functional/Technical, Customer Focus, Communication, Interpersonal, and Team working skills.
• Have prior experience in Installation and/or Maintenance activities of Centrifugal Compressors in the Field at Customer Sites
