Job summary

Maffeis Engineering S.p.A. is expanding its Façade Design Department in Dubai. We are seeking candidates at junior to senior levels to support our construction activities and develop professionally in the field of building envelope engineering on internationally renowned projects.

The role involves documentation review, site supervision, quality control, testing, and reporting, with a focus on delivering compliant and high-quality façades in a dynamic Dubai environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in civil/structural/building engineering or building systems engineering.
• Strong interest in building envelope design and site engineering for complex international projects.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess and approve façade contractor deliverables (designs, submittals, shop drawings, calculations, performance reports).
• Supervise façade installations, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and standards.
• Conduct site inspections, verify installation methods, ITPs and drawings; address deficiencies timely.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of façade performance (water, air, structural tests).
• Prepare site observation reports and document deviations for corrective actions.

Job description

Due to the continuing growth of our Maffeis Engineering team, a great opportunity has opened up for Façade Site Engineering roles to support our construction activities in Dubai.

We are looking for professionals to join our façade design department at our Dubai office. Candidates with different levels of seniority, from junior candidates to experienced professionals, will be considered.

Main Responsibilities

Based on the assigned role and expertise, the successful candidate will be involved in:

• Documentation Review & Approvals: reviewing, assessing, and approving façade contractor deliverables, including material submittals, façade system designs, shop drawings, design calculations, and thermal/acoustic performance reports, ensuring compliance with approved design intent, project specifications, applicable standards, and contractual requirements;


• Site Supervision & Compliance Monitoring: supervising and monitoring façade installations to ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and overall project requirements;


• Quality Control: conducting regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, verifying installation methods, ITPs, approved drawings, and specifications, as well as identifying and addressing deficiencies or non-conformities in a timely manner;


• Testing & Commissioning: overseeing and witnessing façade performance testing and commissioning activities (including water and air infiltration, structural integrity, and other applicable tests) to ensure compliance with performance criteria, safety standards, and project requirements;


• Monitoring & Reporting: preparing comprehensive site observation reports, maintaining accurate records of site activities and progress, and documenting any deviations or non-conformities to ensure corrective actions are properly closed out.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, or Building Systems Engineering;


• a strong personal interest in building envelope design and site engineering, with a willingness to learn and work on complex international projects;


• excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented mindset;


• a good command of English (knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage).

Previous experience in façade site supervision will be considered an advantage. The level of responsibility and assigned tasks will be determined according to the candidate’s experience and seniority.
