Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai seeks a Senior Manager, Exhibition Design and Production with 5+ years in exhibition or spatial design. You will oversee all aspects of exhibition layouts, production, and installations, coordinating with artists, fabricators, and cross-department teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

The role requires leadership of a small team, strong administrative skills, and fluency in English, with additional languages preferred.

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in exhibition or spatial design and production.
• Proficiency in 3D planning software (SketchUp or similar).
• Strong knowledge of artwork handling, packing, and shipping logistics.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills (Microsoft Excel or similar).
• Proven leadership experience with at least 2 years managing team members.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Written and spoken English fluency; Arabic, Malayalam, Urdu, or Hindi preferred.

Jameel Arts Centre is a contemporary art institution operated by Art Jameel , an independent organization that supports artists and creative communities. The Centre hosts exhibitions, commissions, and public programmes, fostering dialogue and innovation across the arts in Dubai and beyond.

Reporting to the Deputy Director and Head of Exhibitions and Programmes, the Senior Manager, Exhibition Design and Production oversees all aspects of exhibition and spatial design across Jameel Arts Centre and related projects. This includes exhibition layouts, production, user experience, and coordination of installations and commissions. The role manages a small team and works cross-departmentally to ensure exceptional exhibition delivery and organizational standards.

Key responsibilities:

General

• Oversee the design and production of exhibitions and artist commissions
• Supervise exhibition installations and takedowns at Jameel Arts Centre and offsite locations (e.g., Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park)
• Collaborate with the Exhibitions Manager to plan schedules, ensuring efficient coordination across teams
• Work with the Operations team to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols
• Liaise with artists and fabricators to produce commissions and exhibition copies
• Maintain and monitor exhibitions during their run, including touch-ups and environmental conditions
• Develop and manage a network of UAE-based production suppliers and specialists
• Produce 3D models and architectural drawings (SketchUp or similar)
• Manage external art handlers, contractors, and installation teams
• Support insurance updates, condition reporting, and documentation processes

Administration & Management

• Oversee budgets, petty cash, and exhibition-related expenses
• Maintain organized filing systems, budgets, and production tools
• Line-manage the Exhibition Design and Production Coordinator and the Logistics and Administration Coordinator, including performance reviews
• Coordinate with Operations to track and maintain exhibition and furniture inventories
