Job summary

Confidential Careers is seeking an experienced Head of English Editorial & Press to lead the day-to-day English editorial operation and oversee production, editing and delivery of high-quality content. This hands-on leadership role manages the English editorial team, coordinates with the Arabic team to ensure consistency across languages, and enforces strict accuracy, tone and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Media, Translation or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in journalism, newsroom operations or editorial management.
• At least 4 years of direct team-management experience in an editorial environment.
• Proven experience managing a daily editorial desk or high-volume operation.
• Hands-on editing of press releases, official statements, news stories and senior communications.
• Experience assigning work, managing editorial traffic and meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience with government or major media organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the English editorial team and daily delivery.
• Edit and approve English-language press releases, statements, and news.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, grammar, tone and structure.
• Coordinate with the Arabic team to ensure narrative consistency across languages.
• Manage workload, deadlines and KPI-driven editorial output.
• Supervise editors, translators and other editorial staff; provide coaching.
