Overview

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: The Engineering Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the hotel engineering team to ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems are functioning efficiently. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating preventive maintenance, managing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to deliver a comfortable and safe environment for guests and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead the engineering team to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance
  • Manage work orders, maintenance logs, and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for outsourced maintenance and repair work
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff performance
  • Monitor inventory levels of engineering supplies and equipment; requisition materials as necessary
  • Assist in developing and managing the engineering budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs
  • Ensure adherence to all local regulations, codes, and hotel policies related to safety and maintenance
  • Respond to urgent engineering issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to support operational needs and guest satisfaction
What we need from you
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within hotel engineering or facilities management
  • Strong technical knowledge of hotel engineering systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire safety
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Flexible to work shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
