Job summary

Client of AIQU is seeking an Engineer Level 2 to lead VSAT and satellite deployment projects across the UAE. You will manage the full project lifecycle from site surveys and commissioning to testing, troubleshooting and handover, ensuring high technical performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5–7 years of hands-on VSAT experience, with strong RF budgeting and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications or a related field.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in VSAT system deployment, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
• Proven expertise in satellite communication link budgeting and RF propagation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for RF and network faults in satellite systems.
• Experience with configuration and operation of satellite modems, routers and network management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to work in a multicultural UAE team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct VSAT and satellite site surveys.
• Lead installation, commissioning and testing of VSAT earth stations and network equipment.
• Perform system performance verification, acceptance testing and RF/network troubleshooting.
• Coordinate deployment activities with clients, vendors and project teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, installation reports and handover packages.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to junior engineers and field technicians.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance during deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system design and performance.
• Monitor deployed systems and apply firmware updates and patches as needed.

About the Role

The Engineer Level 2 will be responsible for leading and executing VSAT and satellite communication system deployments across the UAE You will manage the full project lifecycle from site surveys and commissioning to testing troubleshooting and handover ensuring high standards of technical performance and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct VSAT and satellite communication site surveys
• RF link budgeting
• and frequency planning
• Lead the installation commissioning and testing of VSAT earth stations and associated network equipment
• Perform system performance verification acceptance testing and troubleshooting to resolve RF and network issues
• Coordinate deployment activities with clients vendors and project teams to meet project schedules and deliverables
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation installation reports and handover packages
• Provide on-site technical support and training to junior engineers and field technicians
• Ensure compliance with health safety and regulatory standards during all phases of deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system design and performance
• Monitor and maintain deployed systems applying firmware updates and patches as needed

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as SCTE CCNA Satellite or equivalent
• Experience in maritime or defense satellite communication projects
• Familiarity with UAE telecommunications regulations and licensing procedures
• Arabic language proficiency
• Experience with remote monitoring and management platforms for satellite networks
