Job summary

ADNOC Drilling GeoSteering Services seeks an experienced Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering Engineer to provide on-site support and ensure accurate borehole placement within client specifications. You will perform pre-job modeling, real-time interpretation, and post-well analysis to support horizontal well programs.

The role requires strong communication, extensive drilling and LWD/Wireline knowledge, and the ability to work with client teams to deliver QA and project outcomes during drilling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or related earth science discipline.
• 6 years of experience in drilling services.
• 5+ years of experience with an oil company or well logging service company (Drilling and/or logging preferred).
• 2+ years experience as a LWD engineer, Wireline Engineer or Log Analysis (openhole).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations and English fluency.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a drive for results.
• Knowledge of applicable software programs.
• Broad knowledge of LWD and Wireline logging technologies and applications.
• Good understanding of drilling operations.
• Experience with real-time operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support for Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations including pre/post well 2D interpretation/modeling and log production/QC.
• Functions as a customer liaison and conducts presentations on Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations.
• Responsible for office supervision of 2D Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations.
• Liaises with Drilling Services and customer personnel.
• Participates in post well closeouts.
• Manages special projects as assigned.
• Provide technical expertise for planning, execution and post-well analysis of wells where GeoSteering Services are utilized.
• Model offset data to determine feasibility of geosteering within geological/physical constraints and recommend best applications for success.
• Monitor real-time data, provide real-time interpretation and execute directional decisions to ensure proper borehole placement.
• Integrate with client G&G, drilling and completions teams for planning and execution of their horizontal well programs.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Provides professional reservoir navigation/geosteering support to operational sites to ensure all drilling operations are carried out successfully in line with the well prognosis and plan, technical expert for operations regarding geosteering, horizontal well planning and its applications. The position will consist of providing operational and technical support for ADNOC Drilling GeoSteering Services as required. This will include but not limited to performing pre-job modeling / feasibility studies, geosteering operations during the drilling phase, endof-well analysis with recommendations and any support needed to satisfy the client’s requirements / needs. This position’s main objective is to ensure proper placement of the borehole within the client’s specifications. This position will have more direct contact with the client in regards to operations, oversee the onsite operations during the execution phase and assure that all geosteering deliverables and QA is supplied to the client.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or a related earth science discipline.
