Job summary

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is seeking a senior reservoir navigation/geosteering professional to support operations at ADNOC Drilling GeoSteering Services, ensuring borehole placement aligns with plans and client specs.

You will perform pre-job modeling, real-time interpretation, and post-well analysis, liaising with drilling, G&G, and client teams to deliver high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geosciences or related earth science.
• 6 years' drilling services experience.
• 5+ years with oil company or well-logging service.
• 2+ years as LWD/Wireline/Log analysis (open-hole).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Provide geosteering support including pre/post well interpretation and QC.
• Serve as customer liaison and present Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering results.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Provides professional reservoir navigation/geosteering support to operational sites to ensure all drilling operations are carried out successfully in line with the well prognosis and plan, technical expert for operations regarding geosteering, horizontal well planning and its applications. The position will consist of providing operational and technical support for ADNOC Drilling GeoSteering Services as required. This will include but not limited to performing pre-job modeling / feasibility studies, geosteering operations during the drilling phase, endof- well analysis with recommendations and any support needed to satisfy the client's requirements / needs. This position's main objective is to ensure proper placement of the borehole within the client's specifications. This position will have more direct contact with the client in regards to operations, oversee the onsite operations during the execution phase and assure that all geosteering deliverables and QA is supplied to the client.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific:

• Provides technical support for Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations including pre/post well 2D interpretation/modeling and log production/QC (Quality Control).


• Functions as a customer liaison and conduct presentations on Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations.


• Responsible for office supervision of 2D Reservoir Navigation/Geosteering operations.


• Liaises with Drilling Services and customer personnel.


• Participates in post well closeouts.


• Manages special projects as assigned.


• Provide technical expertise for the planning, execution and post-well analysis of wells where GeoSteering Services are being utilized or have the potential to be implemented.


• Model offset data to determine the feasibility of geosteering within reservoirs within given geological / physical constraints and to recommend best applications for success.


• Monitor real-time data, provide real-time interpretation and execute directional decisions to ensure proper placement of the borehole within a specific target.


• Integrate with client G&G, drilling and completions teams for the planning and execution of their horizontal well programs.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or a related earth science discipline.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 6 years' of experience in drilling services.


• 5+ years of relevant professional experience with an oil company or well logging service company (Drilling and/or logging preferred).


• 2+ years experience as a LWD engineer, Wireline Engineer or Log Analysis (openhole)


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations skills and English language fluency.


• Excellent problem-solving skills with a drive for results.


• Knowledge of applicable software programs


• Broad knowledge of LWD and Wireline logging technologies and applications.


• Good understanding of drilling operations.


• Experience with real-time operations.
