Job summary

ADNOC Drilling OFS seeks a seasoned Directional Driller to implement directional drilling and Logging While Drilling on well sites in Abu Dhabi. You will supervise and mentor junior Field Engineers, provide guidance to external customers and third-party teams, and maintain strong client relations to uphold ADNOC Drilling's leadership in oil service.

You will lead LWD operations, resolve moderately complex drilling problems, and ensure adherence to HSE policies and procedures while advancing

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide instruction and supervision to junior Field Engineers on day-to-day wellsite work.
• Provide guidance to external customers and third-party wellsite colleagues.
• Resolve a range of moderately complex drilling problems at the wellsite using knowledge of tools and services.
• Lead projects and mentor junior field engineers on wellsite activities.
• Maintain professional contacts with internal and external customers to uphold ADNOC Drilling leadership.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

At ADNOC Drilling OFS, this position is responsible for implementing directional drilling and Measurement While Drilling/ Logging While Drilling operations at wellsite. Also supervising and instructing Junior Field Engineers on wellsite work and activities, as well as providing advice and direction to external customers and third-party wellsite colleagues. This position is also responsible for maintaining frequent internal and external customer contacts in order to maintain and grow the company’s status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry. This position is responsible for providing Logging While Drilling (LWD) solutions at well sites along with his capability to drive the operation as an experience Directional driller.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Under minimal supervision, provide direct instruction and supervision to junior Field Engineers on day-to-day wellsite work and activities.
• Provide advice and direction to external customer and third-party wellsite colleagues as appropriate.
• Provide resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems at the wellsite where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line's tool(s) and/or service(s).
• Work is evaluated upon completion by a Field Supervisor (where appropriate), local Operations Management and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met.
• Act as a project leader and mentor junior field engineers.
• Maintain frequent intra-organizational and external customer contacts with a high degree of professionalism.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
• Conduct all business activities in accordance with ADNOC Drilling Standard Operating Procedures, HSE policies and Legal Compliance requirements.
• Successfully complete additional advanced technical training and assigned well site development programs.
• Providing resolution to drilling problems of moderately complex scope at the well site where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Exercising judgment to determine the appropriate action at the well site when performing well site surveys ,directional work, and LWD work.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• BSc in an engineering discipline, or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Good computer knowledge.
