Job summary

Space42 in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Engineer- Frontend to join the development team. You will build the user-interface for our information management application as part of a Big Data analytic system, collaborating with Product Managers, Architects and Software Engineers.

You will design and implement scalable frontend apps using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, translate UI designs into responsive interfaces, and contribute to CI/CD and testing strategies while mentoring juniors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Proficient in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data (WebSockets).
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and agile methods.

As Engineer- Frontend in our team, you will work within the development team to build the user-interface and front-end deliverables. Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects and Software Engineers to research, design, implement and improve functionalities of information management application as part of a Big Data analytic system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
• GIS related libraries (e.g. Mapbox, Cesium)
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, MobX).
• Familiarity with frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel, etc.).
• Experience working with REST APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data (WebSockets).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g. Jest).
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) or cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ideally, you should have

• Experience with Next.js or other SSR frameworks.
• Understanding of frontend performance profiling and accessibility (WCAG) standards.
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries (e.g., Storybook, MUI, Tailwind).
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.
