Job summary

Space42 in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join our development team. You will build, optimize, and maintain the user interface of a Big Data analytic system, collaborating with product managers, architects, and backend engineers.

You will use React/TypeScript, GIS libraries, and modern tooling to deliver scalable UI components, ensure performance, accessibility, and security, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, modern framework experience (React/Vue/Angular).
• Experience with GIS libraries (Mapbox, Cesium).
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, responsive design.
• Experience with Redux or MobX and frontend build tools.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL and real-time data (WebSockets).
• Knowledge of testing (Jest) and CI/CD practices.
• Familiar with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) or cloud.
• Excellent problem solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend apps using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components and frontend libraries.
• Translate UI/UX designs into responsive interfaces.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, security, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Lead frontend architecture decisions and best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and services.
• Participate in sprint planning and roadmap execution.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, frontend testing strategies, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot complex frontend production issues.
