Job summary

Egis Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Coastal Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary coastal and marine design projects. You will coordinate with clients and subcontractors, manage budgets and schedules, and perform coastal modelling and design of breakwaters, marinas, artificial beaches and islands.

Ideal candidates have a university degree in coastal/ocean engineering and at least 8 years of related experience, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven track record

Qualifications

• University degree in coastal/ocean engineering or related field.
• 8 years of coastal engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive experience in planning and design of coastal/marine structures (breakwaters, revetments, marinas, artificial beaches, islands).
• In-depth knowledge of coastal modelling (waves, hydrodynamics, sediment transport).

Responsibilities

• Perform high level technical quality work to program and budget and manage projects as required.
• Liaise with client and subcontractors to ensure design work is delivered on time and to budget.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers for continuity of the design process.
• Conduct coastal modelling related tasks and design coastal/marine elements.
• Review project standards and documents to ensure drawings align with project objectives.
• Peer review consultants' design packages, reports, drawings, calculations, BOQ and specs.
• Peer review contractors' submittals and methodologies.
• Provide technical support to construction supervision team.
• Liaise with authorities to obtain required permits.

• Perform high level technical quality works to program and to budget and able to manage projects as required
• Liaise with the client and subcontractors to ensure the design work is delivered on time and to budget
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process
• Conduct Coastal Modelling-related project tasks and perform the design of coastal and marine elements of the project
• Review project standards and documents to assure the submitted drawings and documents are compatible and aligned with the overall project objectives
• Peer review of consultants design package including technical report drawings calculations BOQ and specifications
• Peer review contractors submittals such as material construction methodologies subcontractor prequalification documents and others
• Provide technical support to construction supervision team
• Liaises with authorities and support the project team in obtaining required permits

Qualificat​ions :

• University Degree in Coastal / Oceanography/ Marine Structures Marine / Civil Engineering or related field
• 8 years of related work experience in coastal engineering
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Extensive Experience in the planning and design of coastal and marine structures including breakwaters revetments marinas artificial beach and islands etc.
• In-depth knowledge of coastal modelling including hydrodynamic waves and sediment transport modelling
