Job summary

Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced EMC Engineer to join the team. The role focuses on EMC analysis, testing, and design, with hands-on experience in EMC measurements and characterization of electronic systems and subsystems.

Activities support the DER C Research and Development programs. You will perform EMC investigations, develop testing capabilities, collaborate with internal teams and customers, and prepare technical reports documenting data and results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in EMC analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and system evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMC analysis, measurements, testing and systems performance evaluation.
• Actively contribute to EMC investigations and studies related to radiated emissions, susceptibility/immunity, shielding effectiveness, cable coupling, grounding, and interference mitigation.
• Support the development and enhancement of EMC testing, analysis, and troubleshooting capabilities for current and future systems and technologies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers.
• Prepare technical reports and document technical data generated for assigned tasks.
• Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions within the activity domain and other duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced EMC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in EMC analysis, testing, and design, as well as hands‑on experience in EMC measurements, troubleshooting, and characterization of electronic systems and subsystems. Their tasks will support the experimental capabilities and the research and development programs at DERC.

The candidate will perform activities such as:

• Work with a people leader who is concerned about executing EMC analysis, measurements, testing, and systems performance evaluation activities.
• Actively contribute to EMC investigations and studies related to radiated emissions, susceptibility / immunity, shielding effectiveness, cable coupling, grounding, and interference mitigation.
• Support the development and enhancement of EMC testing, analysis, and troubleshooting capabilities for current and future systems and technologies.
• Collaborate with both internal teams and customers.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Ensure documentation of technical data generated for the assigned tasks.
• Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions within the activity domain of DEROther duties related to the position.

Skills required for the job:

• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic numerical simulations.
• Experience with software tools such as COMSOL, CST, and/or ANSYS.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to conduct experiments in a laboratory setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The use of CAD software is a great plus.
