Job Purpose
Job Purpose Responsible for the engineering coordination installation testing commissioning and handover of Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems for data center projects The role ensures the review of shop drawings submitted by Specialist contractor and ensure the execution of work as per approved drawings project specifications applicable codes and standards and client requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the design engineering installation testing and commissioning of fire alarm and fire suppression systems
- Review and coordinate approved shop drawings design documents material submittals method statements and technical specifications
- Coordinate fire alarm and suppression works with MEP ELV architectural civil and data center infrastructure teams
- Supervise installation activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications
- Monitor installation of fire alarm panels detectors MCPs sounders modules interfaces cabling and associated ELV components
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of fire suppression systems including clean-agent systems such as FM-200 Novec 1230 or equivalent where applicable
- Ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems with BMS DCIM HVAC access control electrical systems and other critical infrastructure
- Review cause-and-effect matrices and ensure correct system logic and interlocks
- Coordinate testing of fire alarm devices detection loops alarm interfaces suppression release circuits and associated equipment
- Coordinate pre-functional testing functional testing integrated system testing IST and final commissioning activities
- Coordinate with specialist vendors subcontractors consultants and client representatives
- Ensure testing and commissioning activities are completed in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements
- Identify installation and quality issues and ensure timely rectification
- Raise inspection requests and coordinate inspections with the consultant client
- Review testing reports commissioning records inspection documentation and final handover documents
- Support preparation and submission of as-built drawings O M manuals test certificates and commissioning dossiers
- Ensure compliance with applicable NFPA standards UAE Civil Defence requirements local authority regulations and client standards
- Support authority inspections client demonstrations final acceptance and project handover
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with project HSE requirements and approved procedures
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Fire & Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years of experience in fire alarm and fire suppression systems, preferably within data center, commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.Strong experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and suppression systems.Experience with data center fire protection systems and integrated testing is highly desirable.Good knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements.Ability to read and interpret electrical/ELV drawings, schematics, cause-and-effect matrices, and technical specifications.Experience coordinating specialist subcontractors and vendors.Good communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills

- NFPA-related certification/training.
- Fire alarm system manufacturer certification.
- Fire suppression system manufacturer certification.
- UAE Civil Defence-related experience/certification.
- NICET or equivalent fire protection certification is an advantage.
