Role Context

The Elevator Technician will provide field-based maintenance support for elevators, escalators, and associated vertical transportation equipment across assigned sites. The position is centered on keeping systems safe, operational, and reliable through scheduled servicing, detailed inspections, accurate fault diagnosis, corrective repairs, and responsive callback support. Beyond routine maintenance, the technician will identify developing equipment issues before they result in major failures, support statutory and third‑party inspections, document equipment condition, and communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, engineers, and internal service teams. The role also contributes commercially by identifying legitimate repair and modernization requirements during maintenance visits and referring these opportunities to the Sales Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, control, safety, and operating components for deterioration, abnormal operation, or potential failure.
• Troubleshoot elevator and escalator faults and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Diagnose technical problems involving major brands such as Kone, Schindler, TKE, Otis, and Mitsubishi.
• Carry out repairs, component replacements, adjustments, and modifications required to restore safe equipment operation.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and callback requests within assigned service areas.
• Use callback visits to perform preventive checks that reduce the likelihood of recurring failures.
• Verify equipment performance after repairs and confirm systems have returned to acceptable operating condition.
• Support third‑party elevator and escalator inspections and assist with inspection requirements.
• Review inspection observations and recommend appropriate rectification measures.
• Complete identified corrective work in coordination with Supervisors, Engineers, customers, and relevant technical teams.
• Maintain detailed service records covering maintenance activities, faults, repairs, inspections, and equipment condition.
• Ensure service reports include required photographs, equipment serial numbers, technical readings, observations, and customer signatures.
• Provide customers with clear updates regarding maintenance progress, equipment status, outstanding repairs, and service completion.
• Coordinate with fellow technicians and operational teams to improve maintenance scheduling and technical response.
• Identify worn components and developing faults that may require repair, replacement, or modification.
• Highlight genuine repair and modification opportunities discovered during scheduled maintenance.
• Coordinate identified repair leads with the Sales Team for quotation preparation and customer follow-up.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and service resources required for field maintenance activities.
• Follow safe working procedures during maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair activities.
• Ensure completed work complies with applicable local elevator safety codes, technical requirements, and industry regulations.
• Support Supervisors and Engineers in achieving maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and customer service objectives.
• Participate in on‑call coverage and respond to urgent service requirements during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays when assigned.

Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate has practical field experience maintaining and repairing elevators, escalators, or comparable vertical transportation equipment. Strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control‑related elevator faults is important for this position.
