Job summary

R&B Fashion seeks an experienced assistant electrician to support electrical installation, maintenance, and repair across its retail and commercial facilities. The role ensures code compliance, safety standards, and reliable operations to minimize downtime.

You will diagnose faults, interpret drawings, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, high-quality electrical service. 4–6 years of relevant experience is preferred, with an ITI or Diploma in Electrical trades.

Qualifications

• ITI certification or Diploma in Electrical or related trade.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in assisting with electrical installations and maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of electrical tools, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and adhere to safety standards.
• Experience with emergency lighting, switchboards, and power systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, control panels, switchgear, and emergency backup systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults, conduct detailed inspections, and troubleshoot issues in wiring, circuits, outlets, and fixtures.
• Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and complete assigned tasks within defined timelines and quality standards.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, load calculations, and wiring diagrams to execute installations accurately.
• Supervise and guide assistant electricians during on-site work, ensuring proper techniques and compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs of electrical work carried out, materials used, and follow-up recommendations.
• Coordinate with HVAC, AV, carpentry, and maintenance teams to support cross-functional technical delivery.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and unplanned outages, minimizing operational disruption.
• Maintain electrical tools, testing equipment, and ensure compliance with PPE and safety protocols.
• Recommend material specifications and support procurement of required electrical components and consumables.
