Job summary

PWORLD Jobs & Education seeks an experienced Electrical Technician to manage installation and testing of electrical systems for airport infrastructure projects. The role covers on-site work with power cables 70 sq.mm and above, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project specs and standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in power/industrial projects, experience with transformers (1000 kVA+), MDBs/SMDBs, and electrical drawings. UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power plant, power generation, substation, industrial or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience in installation of transformers (min 1000 kVA), MDBs/SMDBs/MCCs, HV/LV switchgear, large control panels.
• Experience in handling, glanding and terminating power cables of 70 sq.mm and above.
• Knowledge of electrical testing instruments and ability to read/interpret electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical systems for MEP projects including power distribution, lighting, ELV, and earthing.
• Install, test, and commission electrical and mechanical systems (transformers, MDBs/SMDBs, AHUs, chillers, control panels).
• Terminate power cables of 70 sq.mm and above with quality and safety.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and civil teams for integrated delivery.
• Perform cable laying, trunking, earthing and lightning protection work.
• Read/interpret electrical drawings, SLDs and layouts.
• Diagnose faults during installation and commissioning.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as directed.
• Ensure electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.

Experience Required: 5 Years Salary Range: Depending on experience Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to handle the installation and Testing of electrical systems in Airport Infrastructure Projects. The role involves working on Airport Equipment and MRO Hangar and infrastructure developments, ensuring all electrical works are carried out in good quality and full compliance to the project specifications, local regulations, and international standards. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in installation Electrical / HVAC systems, site experience, and ability to handle and terminating power cables of 70 sq.mm and above, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review electrical systems for MEP projects including power distribution, lighting, ELV, and earthing systems.
• Hands-on experience in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems, including transformers (minimum 1000 kVA), MDBs, SMDBs, AHUs, chillers, and large control panels.
• Demonstrated capability in handling and terminating power cables of 70 sq.mm and above, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and civil teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform cable laying, pulling, glanding, dressing, and termination for LV and HV power and control cables.
• Install cable trays, trunking, conduits, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation layouts.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults during installation and commissioning.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed.
• Ensure all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently Technical Skills Required:
• Strong knowledge of: o Power Distribution Systems (LV/MV) o Lighting Design and Controls o ELV Systems (Fire Alarm, CCTV, Data, Access Control) o Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
• Ability to interpret: o Single Line Diagrams (SLD) o Electrical Schematics and Layout Drawings
• Educational Qualification and Experience:
• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.

• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and outdoor construction environments.
• Physically fit to handle installation tools, equipment, and heavy electrical cables.
• UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
