Job summary

Sundus Management Consultancy & Studies Bureau L.L.C in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems, ensuring safe and reliable plant operation.

You will install, inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair LV/MV equipment, maintain VFDs and motor control circuits, read SLDs and OEM manuals, and follow LOTO and safety procedures to protect personnel and assets.

Qualifications

• Possess a relevant technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Hold a recognized electrical journeyman or master license.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safe operation.
• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair LV/MV electrical equipment.
• Maintain, test and commission VFDs, soft starters and motor control circuits.
• Diagnose faults and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Read SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, PIDs and OEM manuals.
• Carry out insulation resistance, continuity and cable testing.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper use of electrical test equipment.

Job description

• Perform preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe reliable and efficient plant operation
• Install inspect test troubleshoot and repair LV and MV electrical equipment including switchgear transformers MCCs PCCs distribution boards and motor control circuits
• Maintain troubleshoot and commission Variable Frequency Drives VFDs soft starters motor starters and associated control systems
• Carry out maintenance testing and fault diagnosis of AC and DC motors including high-pressure pumps feed pumps transfer pumps dosing pumps and auxiliary equipment Perform insulation resistance testing continuity testing phase sequence verification earth continuity testing and cable testing using appropriate test instruments
• Inspect maintain and repair electrical cables cable trays terminations glands and junction boxes
• Conduct maintenance and functional testing of protection relays circuit breakers contactors overload relays and electrical protection devices
• Assist in the operation maintenance and testing of standby generators UPS systems battery chargers battery banks and emergency power systems
• Perform switching isolation Lockout Tagout LOTO and electrical permit activities in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
• Read and interpret single-line diagrams SLDs electrical schematics wiring diagrams P IDs and OEM technical manuals
• Diagnose electrical faults identify root causes and recommend effective corrective actions to improve equipment reliability
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards company procedures and applicable regulations Maintain good housekeeping ensure proper use of electrical test equipment and tools and comply with all Quality Health Safety Environmental and Asset Management requirements
• Possess a relevant technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent. Hold a recognized electrical journeyman or master license. Have a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC motors, VFDs, and control systems.
