Job summary

James L Williams Middle East is seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join our QA/QC team and support major MEP projects in Dubai. The role ensures electrical works comply with the Project Quality Plan, project specs, and authority requirements while driving inspections and quality documentation.

The candidate will manage NCRs/SORs, coordinate MIRs/WIRs, and liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely approvals and project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience in MEP/Construction.
• Mandatory data centre project experience.
• Strong knowledge of PQP, ITP, and close-out processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the Project Quality Plan (PQP) for electrical works.
• Prepare, coordinate, and drive approvals for ITPs, Method Statements, Material Inspections, and Work Inspections.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and authority requirements.
• Review materials delivered to site and ensure compliance with approved submittals.
• Coordinate MIRs and ensure only approved materials are released for installation.
• Submit and manage WIRs in line with ITPs and project requirements.
• Conduct site quality inspections to verify compliance with drawings and Method Statements.
• Coordinate with consultants and discipline engineers to address inspection comments and obtain timely approvals.
• Identify, record, and manage NCRs and SORs and coordinate corrective actions to closure.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Check calibration of measuring and testing instruments on site.
• Verify IFC drawings are used and superseded drawings removed.
• Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors for timely resolution and close-out of project snags.
• Ensure project close-out documentation, including O&M Manuals, is completed and approved for smooth handover.

James L Williams Middle East is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join our QA/QC team and support the successful delivery of major MEP projects.

This role is responsible for ensuring electrical works are executed in accordance with the approved Project Quality Plan, project specifications, approved shop drawings, and authority requirements. The successful candidate will drive inspections, quality documentation, approvals, non-conformance management, and project close-out activities while coordinating closely with project teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the Project Quality Plan (PQP) for electrical works.
• Prepare, coordinate, and drive approvals for Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Material Inspections, and Work Inspections.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and applicable authority requirements.
• Review materials delivered to site and ensure compliance with approved technical submittals.
• Coordinate Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and ensure only approved materials are released for installation.
• Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) in accordance with approved ITPs and project requirements.
• Conduct site quality inspections to verify that electrical installations comply with approved drawings and Method Statements.
• Coordinate with consultants and discipline engineers to address inspection comments and facilitate timely approvals.
• Identify, record, and manage NCRs and Site Observation Reports (SORs)and coordinate corrective actions through to closure.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure corrective measures are communicated and implemented to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct checks to ensure measuring and testing instruments used on site have valid calibration.
• Verify that the latest Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings are being used on site and superseded drawings are appropriately removed.
• Coordinate with discipline engineers and subcontractors for timely resolution and close-out of project snags.
• Ensure project close-out documentation, including O&M Manuals, inspection records, and related quality documentation, is completed and approved to facilitate smooth project handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience within the MEP/Construction industry.
• Mandatory experience in Data Centre projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical quality inspections, testing requirements, project specifications, and approved construction drawings.
• Good working knowledge of PQP, ITP, Method Statements, MIR, WIR, NCR, SOR, and project close-out processes.
• Experience coordinating with Clients, Consultants, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, coordination, and people management skills.
• Ability to deliver technical presentations and quality-related training when required.
