Overview
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Role: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor – Plant (Full‑time, Oil & Energy industry). The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a plant, industrial, or large operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform maintenance of plant electrical equipment to ensure availability, reliability, integrity, and safe operation.
- Ensure required manpower, tools, spare parts, equipment, permits, and technical resources are available for electrical maintenance execution.
- Plan, schedule, execute, and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Follow up task progress, inspect work quality, and prepare reports to ensure maintenance jobs are completed safely, correctly, and on time.
- Provide technical support for equipment repair, refurbishment, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare scope of work, contract input, cost reports, and technical documentation for electrical equipment repairs and maintenance services.
- Participate in technical and commercial discussions to support cost‑effective repair solutions that meet approved standards.
- Provide input for critical maintenance procedures, electrical task risk assessments, and safe work method planning.
- Investigate and analyze electrical equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain updated maintenance records, fault reports, logbooks, equipment history, and refurbished equipment databases.
- Update records for electrical equipment and accessories to support effective asset tracking, maintenance planning, and future troubleshooting.
- Authorize issuance of electrical isolation certificates and relevant maintenance work permits to support safe plant operations.
- Participate in daily and weekly safety toolbox talks to discuss job hazards, safe work methods, electrical isolation requirements, and task execution plans.
- Conduct toolbox talks when required to ensure maintenance teams understand safety precautions before starting work.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of new, repaired, or modified electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure repairs, installations, modifications, and commissioning activities follow correct methods, approved standards, and safety procedures.
- Participate in planning, scheduling, and execution of shutdown maintenance, major overhauls, and plant turnaround activities.
- Monitor availability of tools, equipment, parts, and consumables required for scheduled electrical maintenance jobs.
- Prepare lists of spares, tools, and materials required for maintenance work and raise purchase or material requisitions when needed.
- Inspect new material specifications to confirm suitability, compliance with technical requirements, and safe use in plant operations.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance planning, procurement, contractors, inspection teams, and HSE personnel to support smooth job execution.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring electrical issues, maintenance delays, material gaps, and opportunities to improve work quality.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a plant, industrial, or large operational environment.
- Supervisory experience in electrical maintenance execution, work planning, permit coordination, and team guidance.
- Experience in the Oil & Energy industry is preferred, especially within refinery, gas processing, petrochemical, upstream, downstream, or large industrial plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning.
- Practical understanding of electrical isolation certificates, maintenance work permits, risk assessments, and safe electrical work practices.
- Ability to inspect electrical maintenance work, verify repair quality, and ensure installations follow approved methods and safety procedures.
- Experience preparing maintenance reports, fault records, logbooks, equipment history updates, and refurbished equipment databases.
- Good understanding of spare parts planning, material requisitions, tool availability, and technical specification checks.
- Ability to support shutdowns, major overhauls, corrective maintenance, and urgent troubleshooting activities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead toolbox talks, coordinate with plant teams, and guide technicians during maintenance work.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, planning, scheduling, examining, checking, and recording maintenance activities.
