Position Overview:

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Power Systems in Abu Dhabi is an Oil and Energy opportunity for an experienced electrical engineering professional who can support power coordination, electrical equipment reliability, root‑cause analysis, maintenance procedures, technical specifications and plant electrical systems within ADNOC Group. The role focuses on safe and efficient maintenance support, equipment performance improvement, power grid coordination, spare parts availability and compliance with company standards, HSECES guidelines and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical input to update company electrical specifications with the latest industry practices and lessons learned from plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical engineering problems and recommend practical solutions to ensure maintenance services are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Represent the plant in power grid coordination activities, power studies and related operational discussions.
  • Diagnose and analyze electrical equipment failures and carry out root‑cause failure analysis to identify failure reasons and corrective measures.
  • Conduct residual life assessment of critical electrical equipment and recommend required actions to area engineers.
  • Coordinate with TRANSCO, ADWEA, other OPCOs and relevant stakeholders for electrical work, switching activities and power system coordination when required.
  • Witness factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, pre‑commissioning and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems as required.
  • Verify that equipment installation and performance comply with specifications and approved construction documents.
  • Maintain electrical equipment in line with HSECES guidelines and ensure compliance with MAT requirements.
  • Prepare, review and update electrical maintenance procedures to improve equipment reliability, safety and operating efficiency.
  • Provide inputs for division and department capital and operating budgets and monitor annual expenditure against approved plans.
  • Review material stock periodically and recommend updates to ensure suitable spare parts and materials remain available.
  • Revise technical specifications based on manufacturer information, obsolete item removal, new item inclusion and plant requirements.
  • Support safe maintenance planning, technical quality, electrical reliability and continuous improvement across assigned plant systems.
  • Work with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement and external stakeholders to resolve electrical equipment issues and improve plant performance.

Ideal Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of electrical equipment within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance, power systems, switching activities, commissioning and equipment reliability.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, root‑cause failure analysis, residual life assessment and corrective action planning for critical electrical assets.
  • Good understanding of HSECES guidelines, MAT requirements, electrical maintenance procedures and industrial safety practices.
  • Ability to review and update technical specifications, maintenance procedures, material specifications and spare parts requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with power authorities, OPCOs, manufacturers, contractors and internal engineering teams.
  • Strong budgeting awareness with the ability to support capital and operating budget preparation and cost monitoring.
  • Effective communication, technical reporting, coordination and supervisory skills for plant‑based electrical maintenance environments.
