Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Inspector with strong site supervision skills to ensure contract compliance and quality on major projects.

You will work with Resident Engineer and teams, applying UAE electrical codes, conducting inspections, documenting activities, and reporting health and safety concerns.

The role requires 6+ years in electrical inspection, proficiency with testing tools, and clear English communication in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical inspection and site supervision.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
• Thorough understanding of Abu Dhabi and UAE electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to supervise teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in report writing and technical documentation.
• Organized and methodical approach to managing multiple inspections and site activities.
• Valid electrical inspection license or certification recognized in the UAE.
• Preferred: CAD software or electrical design programs experience.
• Preferred: Project management experience or relevant certifications.
• Preferred: Familiarity with construction management systems and software.
• Preferred: Experience on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

• Read and understand the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with updates.
• Ensure the contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.
• Maintain records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources.
• Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
• Document, in the areas assigned to the Inspector, the contractor’s personnel and equipment, activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilised.
• Report on materials delivery and follow and implement site instructions; apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
• Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the leader.
• Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
• Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Monitor Health and Safety of the construction works and report on violations
