Job summary

ALSUWEIDI Engineering Consultants in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our project team. Immediate joiner is preferred for on-site supervision and inspection of contractor works on site.

The candidate will review submittals, assist in testing and commissioning, and coordinate electrical services across disciplines while ensuring QA, QHSE and contractual compliance on the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years hands on experience working in construction supervision of building services.
• Experience reviewing technical submittals, method statements, inspection requests and as-built drawings.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team for our project in Abu Dhabi.

Immediate joiner is preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspections of the contractor’s works.
• Review and commenting on relevant technical submittals, as per RFP such as method statements, inspection requests and As-built drawings.
• Site surveys and carry out inspection of works in progress.
• Ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications and approved shop drawings.
• Witness the commissioning of major systems of the project as described in the specifications.
• Review comments on material submittals concerning constructability as a support to the Engineer and witness the field test.
• Coordination of all electrical services with other disciplines.
• To report quality non-conformances and assist in closing out of the same.
• Monitor and report contractor progress and all activities.
• Generate and submit weekly and monthly discipline Reports.
• Generate, manage and maintain tracking and reporting schedules.
• Deliver all obligations related to the MEP package under the Conditions of Contract.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in delivering all other obligations under the Conditions of Contract.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in delivering all internal Project Management deliverables.
• Comply with and maintain all discipline documentation in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
• To report safety violations to HSE Personnel during inspections on site.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 8 years hands on experience working in construction supervision of building services for private, government, residential, commercial, industrial, retail markets.

Skill Set:

Working knowledge of Auto CAD and drawing control, revisions and issue protocols.

Understanding of British, American and International design standards

Reasonable knowledge of Revit & electrical design software’.

Competent in using Windows and various Microsoft applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Able to take ownership of and deliver MEP package on site independently not limited to:

Checking and clearing of contractors' QA Submittals and Inspection Requests.

Checking and identifying all requirements for Testing and Commissioning of MEP works package.

Ability to direct and manage the Contractor not limited to the MEP works.

Good knowledge of Document Control procedures.

Good knowledge of QHSE principles and practices.
