Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Abu Dhabi seeks a Technical Director – Electrical to set the technical direction for complex, high-value projects and grow the consultancy across the Middle East. You will lead electrical design for critical buildings and infrastructure and own technical outcomes.

This role requires strong leadership, client-facing confidence, and a track record of delivering profitable projects while mentoring engineering teams and contributing to global standards.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical engineering within an MEP consultancy.
• Chartered status, or close to achieving it.
• Proven experience leading complex design projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to link technical delivery to profitability.
• Confidence in client-facing roles and business development.
• Sound understanding of international codes, standards and design practices.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision for the electrical engineering team and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Oversee technical delivery against schedules and budgets and evaluate profitability.
• Prepare fee proposals and provide clear reporting to leadership, clients and partners.
• Mentor and develop engineers, growing leadership within the team.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business growth.
• Collaborate with international offices and contribute to global standards.
