Job summary

Parsons seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for Sharjah, UAE to work on infrastructure projects including roads and street lighting. You will lead electrical engineering tasks, ensure compliance with local standards, and coordinate with authorities and clients.

The role requires deep knowledge of RTA/DEWA regulations, strong communication, and an ability to manage design reviews, procurement packages, and installation packages across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of UAE road and utilities project experience, including traffic signal engineering.
• Experience dealing with government authorities such as RTA, DEWA and DM.
• Strong knowledge of RTA regulations and standards and ability to coordinate with authorities.
• Proven ability to establish relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Independently develops and/or supervises electrical engineering products that meet customer quality requirements.
• Produces calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports and analyses.
• Provides support for other engineering activities and may supervise one or more subordinates.
• May lead a project or discipline on small to intermediate-size projects and guide CAD Designers/Engineers.
• Coordinates with RTA and other authorities for approvals and LV/HV execution; ensures proper filing and documentation.
• Reviews drawings and designs before RTA submittal and follows up with contractors and RTA for approvals.

Electrical Engineer (Infrastructure - Roads & Street Lights)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talentedElectrical Engineer (with Road & Utilities work experience)to join our team! In this role you will perform conventional and moderately complex Electrical engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of Electrical engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
• Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
• Provides support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• Experience and familiarity with Dubai Local Authorities’ (RTA) procedural requirements, review requirements, and approval requirements.
• Review the drawing & design before RTA approval submittal. Follow up with Contractor as well as RTA for getting approval to maintain all files and records on designated forms/format. Ensure that the contractor is not relieved of his responsibility without client authorization.
• Coordinate with RTA contractor for execution of LV/HV work.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience managing roads, infrastructure including utilities works, traffic signal engineering within UAE, preferably Dubai..
• Must have the ability to develop strong working relationships with third party client, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
• Experience in dealing with government authorities such as RTA, DEWA, DM etc.
• Thorough knowledge of RTA regulations and standards.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
• Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
