Job summary

Transguard Workforce Solutions is hiring an Electrical Engineer for a prestigious client in Dubai to oversee electrical quality and inspectorate processes on-site.

You will attend site inspections, coordinate with Contractors, Sub-contractors and Client, and witness testing and commissioning while ensuring compliance with DEWA regulations and project standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 7+ years overall with 4+ in local construction incl. 2 years consultancy as project Engineer or site inspector.
• Experience in construction activities and testing/commissioning.
• Familiarity with local authorities and standards; DEWA project experience preferred.
• Arabic language is desirable; UAE driving license holder.

Responsibilities

• Attend site inspections and coordination meetings with Contractors, Sub-contractors & Client.
• Witness testing, commissioning, field/factory tests, and handover inspections.
• Carry out site surveys and coordinate with authorities for approvals.
• Monitor quality against contract specs, drawings, and best practices.
• Maintain QA/QC logs and ensure defect rectification.
• Ensure installation complies with local regulations and safety procedures.
• Review electrical design drawings and as-built drawings.
• Prepare logs and monthly summaries of site inspections.
• Address RFIs from Contractor & Sub Contractor.
• Aware of DEWA regulations and experience on DEWA projects (min 2 years).

We are currently hiring a Electrical Engineer on behalf of a prestigious client, based in their Dubai office.

Job Purpose:

• Ensure and monitor the quality of construction against specification and design drawings.

Job Description:

• Attend site inspections, site coordination meetings with Contractors, Sub-contractors & Client to ensure the quality of electrical works.
• Witness testing, commissioning, field/factory tests, handing over inspections of all electrical and low current system works in coordination with design engineers.
• Carryout site surveys and follow up with local authorities for approvals, existing services survey details to support design team for design development.
• Monitoring the quality of works against the contract specification, drawings and best industry practices.
• Maintaining the records of work carried out, recording the defects and ensuring rectification is carried out in accordance with agreed procedures and within allocated construction program.
• Ensure health and safety of site staff, monitor health and safety activities of the contractor.
• Reviewing of Electrical Design Drawings prior to issuance.
• Reviewing of the As- built drawings and O & M Manuals.
• Ensure and monitor the quality of manuals used in accordance with specification and approvals.
• Monitor and record the progress of project in accordance with approved programme.
• Ensure the installation complies with local regulations.
• Review and comments on design issues/ drawings/ material submittals or any technical enquiry upon request from the Sr. Electrical Engineer.
• Monitors the works in process before reaching the point of submission of inspection request.
• Prepares the log for site visits made during the month.
• Prepares a monthly summary report inspection conducted during the past month.
• Review of shop drawings, Material submittals in accordance with DEWA approved Design Drawings, NCR.
• Prepare and maintain a QA/QC log of all materials and installation and ensure all outstanding comments / remarks are closed out in coordination with construction management.
• Attend and address RFI’s queried by Contractor & Sub Contractor.
• Aware of DEWA regulations and have worked on DEWA Projects for not less than 2 years.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
• Minimum 7 years experience with 4 years in local construction industry including 2 years with
• consultancy as project Engineer or site inspector.
• Experience in construction activities.
• Experience in testing and commissioning.
• Experience in follow up of local authorities and standards.
• Handover experience in ERP is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Arabic desired and Holder of UAE driving license.
• Comprehensive knowledge in testing and commissioning of electrical installation and
• equipments. Good knowledge and understanding of site based construction activities and
• coordination. Comprehensive knowledge in local authority regulations.
